Statement

Black and white photograph of dead sunflowers in Ontario, Canada by Bret Culp, featured on the artist statement page.

I am compelled to explore the beauty found within the cycles of growth, decay, and renewal. Through impermanence, we recognize that beauty arises not in spite of life’s constant changes but because of them. Embracing impermanence frees us to appreciate the fleeting nature of each moment while revealing the elegance in the passage of time. Impermanence cultivates wonder and awe, reminding us that all things are interconnected and transient, deepening our reverence for the delicate balance of life’s ongoing transformations.
